Coach Sean received All-Conference and Washington Post All-Met recognition as one of the top high school lacrosse players in the Mid-Atlantic region before playing at the NCAA Division 1 level for the Duke University Blue Devils and serving on active duty in the Marine Corps. Coach Sean resides in Tampa with his wife and two daughters and is committed to making Shipyard the premier girl’s lacrosse program in Florida and the nation.
Coach Heather has been playing lacrosse since 7th grade. She started off playing goalie for a year and then became more in love with being on the field, so then turned to a defensive player the rest of her career. Heather played defense on the Elmira College woman’s lacrosse team. She is now a registered nurse and mom of two. She helps coach the Clearwater Yellowjackets rec lacrosse team, as well as the lower school team for Shipyard.
Coach Marisa is from Long Island, New York, where she played varsity soccer, basketball, and lacrosse for four years at Mount Sinai High School earning her the title of All-County player. She has won a state championship as a lacrosse player and two state championships as an assistant lacrosse coach at Mount Sinai High School. She continued on her lacrosse career at Stony Brook University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Science. Coach Marisa moved to Tampa four years ago and has been coaching all levels of lacrosse ever since. She has been a part of teams that have been ranked in the top 10 nationally for travel and high school lacrosse. Coach Marisa has coached at Henry B. Plant High School the last three seasons, helping coach the team to States the last two seasons. She is currently the Co-Head Lacrosse Coach going into her fourth season. For Shipyard Lacrosse, Coach Marisa is a Head Coach and Group Trainer. She strives to grow the game of lacrosse here in Tampa by developing players into collegiate athletes so they are able to live out their dreams and have a successful future.
Coach Cece Colombo was a captain on the University of Tampa women’s lacrosse team. She was a three-time IWLCA All-American and four-time SSC All-Conference selection, In 2024, she was named SSC Midfielder of the Year and is the all-time leader in both draw controls and assists in UT program history. These contributions played a pivotal role in leading the team to victory as NCAA DII National Champions in 2024.
Since moving to Florida in 2014, Coach Mike has been engaged in the Tampa Bay lacrosse community, thanks to his daughter's love of the game. He has coached every age from youth to high school lacrosse. His lacrosse accomplishments since arriving in Tampa are: taking one of his teams to #4 in the country; sending multiple girls to play at top Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 schools; and coached Plant High School girls' lacrosse team to the state championships for the 2nd year in a row. His biggest accomplishment is making an impact on each one of his athletes as they move on in life.
Coach Syd is from Plantation, FL where she began playing lacrosse in 8th grade. She received athletic honors for lacrosse while in high school & went on to play Division II at Saint Leo University. As an upper classman, she spent her free time volunteer coaching with the local rec team, Wolves Lacrosse Club, from 2018-2020. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, her passion to coach deepened as she went to coach girls travel lacrosse. Most recently, Sydney joined the coaching staff at Shipyard and focuses on the high school team.
Coach Ariana, born and raised in Tampa, Florida, began her lacrosse career at STS and was a founding member of the inaugural club team at Plant High School. Following high school, she became the first girl from Tampa to play NCAA lacrosse. During her time at Rollins College, the team made two NCAA semi-final appearances. After college, Ariana was named the inaugural head coach at the Academy of the Holy Names. Since the early years of Tampa lacrosse, Ariana has dedicated her efforts as a player and coach to the growth and development of the girls' game, while encouraging young women to pursue collegiate athletics.
Coach Ryan moved to the Tampa area in 2022, bringing with him four years of extensive coaching experience at the middle school & lower school levels. His commitment to developing young athletes is showcased through his involvement with the Coyotes lacrosse program in Fish Hawk, where he focuses on fostering skills and teamwork among players. His dedication culminated in leading the Coyotes to victory as the U12 champions at the Battle of the Bay tournament in 2024 in his first year coaching for the Coyotes. Ryan and his daughter, Ella, both love the game tremendously and are dedicated to growing the game!
Coach Alex is from San Diego, CA. She played varsity lacrosse and golf at Torrey Pines High School, where her talent on the field led to her recruitment to play Division II lacrosse at the University of Tampa. There, she got her undergraduate degree in chemistry and MBA. As the starting goalie, she helped lead her team to a National Championship in 2024, along with conference championships in both 2023 and 2024. Her individual accolades include being an IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, Sunshine State Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, and selection to the All-Tournament teams for the National and Conference Championships. In her free time, she enjoys tutoring and giving private lessons to kids in the Tampa Bay Area. She deeply loves competition and is eager to continue competing in the Tampa Bay Area through coaching.
Coach Christian coached in Northern Virginia after playing lacrosse in college for Limestone College and the University of Florida. In 2017, he moved to Tampa with his family and began coaching his daughters' lacrosse teams in South Tampa. When his oldest daughter was selected to play for Shipyard Lacrosse, Coach Christian joined the coaching staff. He continues to play lacrosse himself with the Tampa Thunder while sharing his love for the sport with his daughters and growing it in his players.
Junior Coach Kenzey Craig is currently a senior at Plant High School in Tampa, FL. She plays mid-field and attack and has committed to continue her career and play Division I lacrosse at John’s Hopkins University. Kenzey enjoys being part of a team and helping the younger girls learn, develop, and grow their game.
Junior Coach Sadie Piece is in her Senior year at Plant High School. She is a defender and plays lacrosse for Plant High School as well as Shipyard Lacrosse. Coach Sadie has been playing lacrosse since she was in 4th grade and has committed to Wesleyan University to continue her lacrosse and academic career. She is always excited to help spread the sport through the community and is super excited to be able to pursue it for the next four years as well!
